Happy Wednesday

My 2nd passion is scrapbooking. I enjoy collecting the beautiful paper, embellishments and tools. I enjoy the whole process of designing a layout (LO) and the finish product. I display my finish LOs for days before I put it away. I enjoy taking just the right pictures and telling a story. Documenting our lives and special moments and leaving it behind for my family. I'm currently going back in time and creating LO of my kids when then were babies. It is so emotional. I ache to have those days back but at least I have my pictures. Now that my days do not revolve around my family, I have more time to quilt and scrapbook. I miss driving my kids around and sitting for hours watching my son play baseball but I keep myself pretty busy.

Happy Monday

One more week before my quilting buddies "Midnight Quilters" and I will be going away for our 4th Annual Retreat. One of the girls has a time share in Orlando and she graciously shares her space with us for 5 glorious days. I quilt for as long as I want, flip through magazines, chat with my friends and there is absolutely no cooking or cleaning. I love my family but God I need the time to myself.

Quilting is my first passion. I love it so much and it gives me so much gratification. I especially like country quilts. They are so comforting. I just can't wait to snuggle up with one. On a warm day, I lower the temperature and curl up with a quilt. Have quilts all over my house. On the couches and walls. I give every other quilt away and let myself keep a few. I've sold a few and I made one donation quilt. I plan to make more. Its a good fundraiser.

Happy Easter

During lent I give up meat, chocolate and fried foods for 40 days. The older I get the harder it is. My family never questions me but my friends ask me why do I have to give up so much? Why not just chocolate. I could stop eating for 40 days and it would not be enough. I thank God for his sacrifice and it is such a small way for me to let Him know that I haven't forgotten the meaning of lent and why I'm still here. Thank you! I'm off to make fried eggs, bacon and lots of toast.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Not much going on today. Good episode of Make a Card Monday with Kristina Werner, http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/. Cards were never my thing until I discovered Kristina. Now I make a card almost each night. Noell Hyman also had a very nice episode of Paperclipping. http://www.paperclipping.com/. She had a tour of a scraproom. I'm so jealous. Very cool.

Here goes

I have been inspired by all the other bloggers that I started my own. I can't imagine who would look at it but here goes.
I started quilting about 6 years ago. Before quilting, I worked, took care of my family and kept house but nothing just for me. Quilting changed my life. I had a circle of friends that shared my passion for quilting. A few years later one of my quilting buddies turned me on to scrap booking. OMG! There is not enough hours in the day. I will share my favorites with you and hope that you get something from my creations.
