December Daily 2009: Day 1

This is my 2nd December Daily album influenced by Ali Edwards. I had so much fun last year documenting and capturing our daily lives leading up to Christmas. I knew that this year would be extra special. I am really looking forward to documenting every day of December with Dominick in our lives and for one day Dominick holding the book in his little hands asking me to read him the story of Dominick's First Christmas.

Dominick Ray Sanchez Part 2

To say that yesterday was the BEST day of my life would be a lie. I have been blessed with many "BEST" days. But yesterday was the BEST day of a different kind. I have been told so many times about how special it is to be a grandmother. That it’s great and different. I get it now. He's yours but NOT yours. No pressure, no stress of getting it RIGHT or screwing his life up by doing or saying the wrong thing. No pressure and no stress of fucking up. Sorry, there just wasn't a better way of expressing that realization.

I want to publicly thank GOD for my life. THANK YOU GOD! YOU are amazing. YOU continue to bless me daily and then you throw in a BONUS blessing like Dominick. THANK YOU!

Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers.

OK now for some details. She was scheduled for a C-section at 5:00 but due to many emergency c-sections she had in at 10:10pm. The poor girl was starving.

We were comfortable in L&D in a very spacious room and I even got a little sewing done.

A special thanks to all our visitors who came to share in our joy. Thankfully they also helped distract Chris from her hunger pains.

The cover is done and pages are in. I used the same technique as last year. I covered 6X9 cardboard with fabric that I used for Dominick's Christmas quilt. Can't wait to get started.

BTW no baby yet. There is some talk of a C-section. I will keep you posted.

Today

is Chris' due date but no baby. She's walking but nothing. She is scheduled to be induced November 23rd, her birthday. Please pray that Dominick comes before that.

She's so cute.

Happy November and All Saints Day

Between catching up on sewing and crafting for $, I have not been motivated to do any for myself and family. I did manage to put together my grandson's first quilt but it's not finished. Of course my head is already on Dominick's December Daily f/k/a 31 Days of Christmas which I can't wait to start. For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about see . His Christmas quilt is done but not finished. Anyone see a pattern here? Help me find my mojo. A prize to whoever does. LOL

Anyway, as you can imagine with Dominick's arrival will come many visitors so be prepared for manyyyyyy pictures. Some of you may ask, where does she find the time to blog?; its my therapy.

So what do you think, when will Dominick be born? Chris and I are hoping for November 3rd and hopefully during the day. I would like to have my hair done so we look good for the pictures. Yes, its all about the pictures. You know better than that.

Who thinks he'll be born the day the Yankees win the world series this year? Yeah I said it, WHEN THE YANKEES WIN. WOOT WOOT. Danny is hoping for the November 7th. Let me know date and time am/pm and the winner will get a little something.

Florida Baby Shower

We had Chris and Danny's Florida Baby Shower this past Saturday. I call it Florida because they had one in NY back in July and her friends from Buffalo's cafe gave her a shower too. Now we wait...

8 More Weeks

So much is going on in my head and in my life. Some days it is so hard being a mother, wife, daughter, sister... I pray for strength and guidance. But on the bright side, I am looking forward to being a grandmother; right now that is what I look forward to most. Just 8 more weeks.


Last weekend I was able to get away, relax and scrap with some great ladies. This awesome retreat was organized by Damaris. She thought of everything and made it a wonderful escape for all of us. It was truly a great retreat.

Happy Birthday to Me

I had a great birthday doing exactly what I wanted to do

•Great birthday dinner at my sister Cindy’s house yesterday with family
•Spending quality time with myself and a cup of Bustello in the patio with a magazine then with my laptop.
•Organizing my scrapping stuff for my retreat next weekend.
•Organizing and printing pictures
•Eating a delicious brunch cooked by my beloved daughter and spending quality time with my family at the rarely used dining table, great conversation and laughs
•Organizing some more and a movie
•Another break to view one of my presents
•Off to the beach where I had the best time watching my kids play, enjoying the beach breeze, sounds of the waves and taking many pictures.
•Then to our favorite dining place "La Granja"
